Quick Fix, 2024, alabaster, cast metal; various dimensions

Referencing the earlier work We’re All Dogs in Hot Cars,  in which sugar was used as a primary material, this sculpture series consists of oversized, cavity-ridden tooth-like forms made of alabaster, scattered across the floor. Naturally occurring holes in the stone have been “repaired” with cast metal, reminiscent of amalgam dental fillings. The work draws on the fever-dream-like symbolism of losing teeth, a motif often associated with existential anxiety and material scarcity, to evoke a visceral sense of discomfort.
